I’m a Human Blanket
Postcards given to people walking in NYC.
While living in Beirut, Lebanon, I was asked to show my work in New York. Being on the other side of the world, I wanted to send word home of my journey. The notion of a postcard — a happy, short, statement to connect with those at home — seemed appropriate. The statement, “I am a human blanket” attempts to recognize my role as comforter as well as to invite my viewers to question themselves in a similar role. One person as comforter, one person as comforted.
